Help with baby boy names?

So, my boyfriend says if he has a son he wants to name him Maxwell Easton "Max". But when I was a child I had a dog named Max and he had to be put down from stomach pains(his stomach twisted). Am I being selfish not wanting to name him Max because of my unfortunate mishap with my puppy?
